Deep Roots in the Fraser Valley
Cory was born in Mission, BC in 1976 and was raised on a piece property that his grandfather purchased in Deroche after WWII. He graduated from Hatzic Secondary School in 1994 and attended BCIT's Operations Management program from 1994 to 1996. Cory's family still lives on the 16 acre property in Deroche which is home when he is not on great adventures with Yosuke in Japan.

Married Yosuke Nitta in 2011 Cory married his long time sweetheart, Yosuke Nitta in 2011 on his family's property in Deroche. Cory & Yosuke spend their time between Deroche and Akita, Japan where Yosuke's family has had deep roots going back hundreds of years. Cory & Yosuke enjoy traveling, attending festivals and live music events and spend a considerable amount of their free time volunteering in their communities. |
10 Years in the Financial Services Industry
Cory's career in the financial services industry began with a work experience placement at the Fraser Valley Credit Union when he was in high school. Cory later worked as a customer service representative at the credit union before accepting a position as an account executive with Citigroup in 2004. Having developed his skills in personal lending and mortgages, Cory was hired as a Financial Services Manager with BMO Bank of Montreal in 2007 when the financial institution opened a branch in Mission. Cory excelled in his role with BMO and moved into the Mortgage Specialist role covering the Fraser Valley East area working with a number of retail branches in 2009. In 2008 he was named one of BMO's Best of the Best. |
Dedicated Community Builder
Cory is a dedicated community builder and has worked tirelessly to connect people and resources. From grass-roots volunteer work to social entrepreneurship and political activism, Cory never hesitates to roll up his sleeves and pitch in for causes he believes in. As a respected entrepreneur Cory has been successful in his business ventures with What's On! Magazines and The Stage Events & Entertainment Venue. He has also been in leadership roles with the Mission International Cultural Association, Rotary International, and Pride initiatives in Surrey and the Fraser Valley. Cory has also been active with a number of political organizations. |
